I dig this guy, he doesn't just talk to hear himself talk, doesn't have 2 minute intros.  New subscriber here

Just drawing a new continental map. Haven't watched your video yet but I'm sure I'll be inspired as always. It's so crazy. I would have never thought that I'd be able to draw maps. I always loved them but creating a world of your own is something deeply satisfying.

Looking forward on how you'll draw cliffs and edges.

What is your favorite scale to draw? World maps, continental, cities, regions and all of the other things?

I like circling. I just drew a big forest map which was very intimidating at first but came out kind of good. I'd say it's 70% forest.

Thank you for the great inspiration!

Greetings from Germany!

You should also take into consideration the material of the cliffs. Harder materials leave a sharper edge, softer materials leave a smoother edge. There's also weathering type, wind or water. Etc.

This video just saved my mind and map and life. On my map, I have a giant crater/chasm that bisects the main continent into two, so it's a bunch of cliff faces dropping into waterfalls into the ocean, and trying to draw it has been driving me mad. I wish I had money to throw at your patreon for how helpful this is to me, I really really REALLY appreciate it, in all my impoverished frustration. Thank you for making this.

I missed these vids.

One of the top channels for D&D world building 👏

Another great video Nate! (and perfectly timed) I was just drawing a map and was looking around on youtube for ways to draw chasms when the little notification popped up that you had just made a video on the subject..... began watching it in the next three seconds

There's something really characterful about a handrawn map. It reminds me of when I played D&D as a kid, and all the resources I had was a pen and paper!  Now I make my maps with an AutoCAD, lol.

Do you have a map that has waterfalls falling off your cliffs and inside your lands. I love watching your map making and it fits perfectly with my story writing. Thank you for sharing your skills with us.

Can you make a video on drawing cave entrances

You make drawing a map look so effortless.  Great work. I can't wait to see more.

Im glad i found your vids been working on a proyect for 11 or 12 years and never drew a map for it cuz i wasnt confident of drawing but with your vids ive been practicing and im becoming mor confident and satisfied

Great vid, I really liked the birdseye view verions! A note worthy thing about shading: in architectural plans over gardens and parks the shading of trees and bushes are usually done with light coming from the northeast, even though it should come from the south to be scientifically correct. The reason for this is presumably that shading on the northern side of objects can give off a feeling of the  plan being turned  upside down.

brilliant tutorial, thanks for the good work Nate.

Cool thanks for this! I requested this from you a few days ago, didn't expect you to put it up so quickly

Nice!
I was just trying to figure this out before you uploaded, thanks for the tips!

Very helpful! I was having trouble doing some sea facing cliffs but you totally helped me!

damn dude nice thanks for the tutorial

Very nice. Thanks.

Thank you so much for these videos. You've helped me a ton. Life saver!
