Bosnia: The country I waited over 20 years to visit

Since I was a kid, I have heard of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Now, I am finally seeing the reality for myself and sharing the journey from Mostar to Sarajevo to Foča.

Traveling in Bosnia has been on my list ever since I learned about it in school from Canadian peacekeepers. This trip is an unfiltered look at what it is really like to explore the country today. It is not always easy but the experience has been unforgettable so far.

Hi Tasha - interesting place with some sad history. Good to see that it now looks like a vibrant country with lots going on. Love the way that some of your trips go exactly to plan…and some don’t! Either way, you show the reality of the situation, the difficulties that you sometimes encounter, and not just tell us about the good things that happen. 5:08 I think it was in Bruges that not only were there bullet holes still in the side of the buildings, but there were scrape marks from the tanks that would go down narrow roads and arches from WW2. Then I did a memorial ceremony at Luxembourg’s cemetery for Americans that died in the war. General Patton was buried there. Now I live in Strasbourg. I love seeing history. Makes you look at life differently.

Maybe its just me but one of the things that i struggle with with this channel is coherance, then we visit here, then we visit there, sometimes a status update on being injured then another video about climbing a mountain. I would really like to see more of your journey in a coherant way, life updates following up on eachtother, more of a sense of being a part of your yourney not just snippits. Maybe im just complaining here or being harsh bit i figured id just write it. Nothing wrong with any of the videos at all ❤

Great, sounds like you are still trying to climb the highest peaks. You should highlight this more your videos, like start the video right off saying your climbing the highest peak in Bosnia and give us some info on it, like height and length of hike, difficulty. Good luck with the climb.

Hi, I'm glad you visited Bosnia and Herzegovina. I lived in Croatia during the war as a child and later five years as a foreigner in Bosnia. I can see that you look a kind of lost there or scared. Yes, there are many mines left after the war and it's not advisable to leave the tracks or trails there. I hope you enjoyed your hike to Maglić. Just a few tips on how to pronounce the names of towns. Foča in English sounds like ch in change. And in the world Sarajevo the sound j sounds like y in yesterday.

Many years ago i saw a documentary on rebuilding the mostar bridge using as much as possible its original parts, they succeeded!
