Introduction of Featured Author: Park Jae-byeong

CEO of CareDoc. After graduating from the Department of Business Administration at Pusan National University, he immediately chose to travel the world on the back. After meeting countless people over three years, he returned with the resolve to "make meaningful work his profession." In particular, he focused on the issues of elderly care he witnessed while caring for and battling illnesses in his family. He visited elderly women living in cramped, single-room housing in Busan, founded "One Step More," and developed a donation app. However, realizing that the majority of the elderly are in "care blind spots" and that welfare alone cannot solve the problem, he embraced a vision to solve elderly care as an "industry." Subsequently, he founded CareDoc in 2018 and won an award at the "Healthcare Data Utilization Startup Competition," paving the way for the public disclosure of evaluation data for nursing institutions.

Since its establishment, CareDoc has been leading the market by creating "senior care standards." It has grown into a specialized care company that eliminates constraints of time and place through services such as household care, nursing, home care, home rehabilitation, and hospital care. It launched the nation's first "nursing facility search service" and introduced a matching service for Care Coordinators (caregivers) and certified nursing assistants. As a result, CareDoc app downloads exceeded 300,000 in the first quarter of 2025. With over 70,000 Care Coordinators providing care services to 200,000 people, cumulative care hours have surpassed 5 million. The company is also conducting senior healthcare businesses, including caregiver insurance and trusts.

It is actively continuing businesses that combine care with housing, such as day and night care centers, nursing homes, and senior towns. In particular, "Care Stay," rental housing for patients, and "Care Home," a care-oriented senior town, are receiving an explosive response. We are also leading innovation in related industries, including the establishment of Korea's first Senior Housing Association, the country's first specialized senior housing management company, and the production of the nation's first senior housing design guide.
