one important thing to know:

he was never zero in the first place

@MrAnon-fc4nz 6 years ago

The guy that taught him was probably like

“That was fun, I gotta go to bed rn, let’s play tomorrow”

This is how Premium players should've treated F2p's.

He went from a Zero to a Hero.

Then he went from a Hero into a Legend.

Rest in Peace Rick May. Rocket Jump all the way to Heaven.

I wish TF2 would've worked like this...

If Valve just patched the coach options...

When the zero turns hero,
The hero teaches the zero.

The pro soldier is literally the "last online 1 year ago" person, which I find sad.

@demoman5864 4 years ago

not only is this wholesome af, BUT CAN WE APPRECIATE HOW BEAUTIFUL NIGHTTIME BADWATER IS?

@matthederplawman3327 5 years ago

This makes me wish that they added a jump academy training area as a main server to teach new players how to rocket jump

@xperiences9240 6 years ago (edited)

Soldier is rocket jumping with angels now

@cuandobaiteas5499 6 years ago (edited)

Now he's rocket jumping in clouds

Rest in peace Rick May

I remember in 2013 when i was 9 years old on a jump map getting taught everything by someone. Never met him again after that day but ill never forget him. Now im 18 and teaching my own little brother the same things the same way. May Rick rest in peace for making these memories and experiences possible.

Honestly I think the beautiful and sad thing about life is that everyone probably has a “Soldier” in their life at some point. People who helped change your life one way or another and then left. I think my favourite thing about this animation is that it encourages you to help others as you were once helped, and words can’t describe how heart warming that is to me

More like “The Story of Rick May the legendary soldier”

Rest In Peace Rick May
“You magnificent bastard, you’ll be miss”
“You were good son, real good; maybe even the best”
“Remember son, Dying is gay”
- Soldier

"Is He gonna respawn?"
"No but he'll be with the angels."

Watching this now, I smile at when I was a f2p. Cherishing my gibus with all my heart and watching TFtubers almost at every chance I got. Ahh how I miss those days.

This hits differently now.

When i first played the game, there was a toxic pro playing on my team and screaming into the mic telling me what to do while I didn't even know where the enemy was at

@somename3424 6 years ago

This is actually how i learned how to rocket jump, random people just stopped what they were doing to help me, and now i help people if i see theyre struggling

@firenzarfrenzy4985 5 years ago

This should and is based on a true story for many. TF2 is the only community that would offer to help someone get better instead of rubbing salt in the wound
