This video shows the arrival, departure, and passing of trains at Nishinomiya Station on the JR Kobe Line (Tokaido Main Line) during the weekday evening rush hour (around 5 PM to 7 PM). It shows passing Special Rapid Service trains, Limited Express "Super Hakuto" and "Hamakaze" trains, and stopping Rapid Service trains, local trains, and freight trains.
The station has two island platforms with four tracks. Platforms 1 and 2 are for trains bound for Sannomiya, and platforms 3 and 4 are for trains bound for Osaka. However, except for the morning Rapid Service trains, trains only stop on the inner tracks (platforms 2 and 3). Therefore, during the filming time (evening), ropes were strung across the outer tracks (platforms 1 and 4). (There are no ropes at the end of the platforms.)
Limited Express and Special Rapid Service trains pass through on the outer tracks, while all Rapid Service trains (except in the morning) run and stop on the inner tracks. Because of this, there are many times when all trains pass through on the outer tracks (platforms 1 and 4), which is why the ropes are strung up.
The video was filmed from the platform for trains bound for Sannomiya and the platform for trains bound for Osaka.
