Problem both Playstation and xbox both have is they have a corporation behind them how many losses can Playstation and xbox have before sony and Microsoft start to either start selling things off canceling everything out of the big 3 Nintendo doesn't have a corporation behind them so if the fail or succeed it's on them my point is how much money can sony and Microsoft keep losing with Playstation and xbox before things change or there won't be a Playstation and xbox are sony and Microsoft in it for the long haul only time will tell

Xbox takes in 500mil $ a month from Gamepass. Helix will play PC games confirmed. Elder Scrolls 6, Fallout 5, World of Warcraft, Diablo, Activision making a new Halo game... Playstation has had a string of L's and is not backed by a trillion$ company like Xbox is. A few more L's and Sony is in trouble

Microsoft is a 4 trillion dollar company and XBOX is being backed by them. By comparison, Playstation is worth about 60-80 Billion dollars while their parent company (Sony) is worth roughly twice that amount. Nintendo is worth even less than that, around 40-60 billion as a company. If Microsoft wanted to, they could purchase both their competition 20 times over with that capital. They're not gonna fail. They're not going away. They're here to figure out how much of the pie they can take, and it looks like they're starting to figure out how to take a bigger piece of it. And that can only be a good thing as the more they can compete, the better it will be for all gamers.
