Slovenia marks the beginning of the eastern Alps. Numerous rivers flow from the Alps down to the sea. We followed the Savinja, among others. From the Seetaler Sattel pass, we crossed the Paulitsch Pass into Slovenia's "green valley," the fifth-largest hop-growing region in the world. There, we visited the world's first beer fountain, were guests of one of Slovenia's young, creative hop growers, and explored a truly unique motorcycle museum. We also traveled along the northern reaches of Slovenia's most famous river: the Soča. Here, we met Slovenia's first certified sommelier, who also owns a two-Michelin-starred restaurant and, conversely, runs a typical Slovenian bistro serving traditional cuisine. Our accommodations range from campsites and wooden chalets to glamping, offering something to delight every traveler. Of course we went up the Vršič Pass, and so much more...
