Silver wheels really bring it to life.

It's and expensive club and we're not invited, but we get to watch, thanks to Harry!

McLaren needs to build a visitor museum!   They need to show off their heritage, show off their F1 cars to the next generation, their wins, their trophies, and let not just customers see what they're buying into, but the next generation of Lewis Hamiltons and Lando Norrises.   It seems that unless you're visiting the F1 Technology Centre, and very few will be allowed to, nobody gets to see the success McLaren has had over the decades of F1 racing and other series they've done.    They desperately need to shout loud and proud that they are McLaren and building excellence in to everything is what they do!

Harry explains things so well and he is so easy to listen, would make a fantastic lecturer.

I’ve owned my metallic Pearl White/Red/Carbon 650S Spider since nearly new for 10 years now (44k miles) and it’s not going anywhere either. I love the sound from the Meridian Surround DSP system, especially considering there’s no separate subwoofers involved to save weight, but the only thing I miss is the ability to skip music tracks from my connected Walkman via a dedicated button on the steering wheel. I’ve learned to skip tracks with the touchscreen but I still hit the pause/play button instead every now and then. :/

I didn’t realise MSO fitted CarPlay to the 650S so that’s something to consider and I think the new carbon addition looks superb. More temptation!

I also took my Spider to Silverstone last year but that was only to stay at Escapade lol. I really must pluck up the courage to track it. Might see you there sometime. Enjoy and all the best.

This honest, first-hand insight is incredible.   It's such a breath of fresh air from car channels that are either about posing and showing off, or trying to be funny.  Just down to earth common sense.  And still massive levels of respect shown to Ferrari, and a very actionable recommendation to McLaren.  Although.. Ferrari have been doing what they're doing for very nearly a hundred years..   At this level it probably just takes that much time to have living breathing heritage that you can feel and smell everywhere.   So.. McLaren just need to be patient; they only made their first road car in 1992.

Having driven a 650s spider I can totally agree that it is such a useable package - brilliant steering, just easy to drive, a great everyday supercar 😊

I have the exact same Amethyst color on my 160HP 2018 Renault Grand Scenic. So except for the steering wheel on the left, it's basically the same.
