Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi personally responded to the thuggery incident that occurred in the Ngagel Rejo shophouse area.

Along with the Anti-Thug Task Force, Eri inspected the location and emphasized that Surabaya has legal regulations that must be adhered to. He reminded everyone that legal issues should not be resolved by taking the law into their own hands.

Eri also met with the victim, who reportedly reported the case to the Surabaya Police. He assured them that the report would be processed by the police.

Eri emphasized that there is no room for thuggery in Surabaya. Threats, intimidation, and especially violence, will be dealt with in accordance with applicable law.
