So I’ve got it set to:
Up down volume

Value area at 100
I would add that an alternative is to use ticks per row and set them to a multiple of 4 on ES and NQ (four ticks in a point) and choose your value based on the price action and volatility. For instance, I may go to a 15m chart and set it as he has noted above, or I might set it to something like 80 ticks per row on NQ. After messing around with this for awhile I find that there is some room for flexibility and you can suit it to your style and needs. then I will execute on the 1 or 2 minute chart. As a rule of thumb, don't make the zones too wide (use too few rows or too many ticks per row), because you can miss out on precision. On the other hand, don't make the rows to narrow or else you will end up with too many LVNs, too many choices, and too much noise. Play around and find your sweet spot.
