Those two Raleighs built of 753 are both Ti-Team Pros, one was used in 1980 to win the TDF!  Both very valuable, but the one in Team Colors, much more so, if original paint.  They were both made at the Raleigh facility at Ilkeston, England, where all of the Raleigh Team bikes were fabricated.

I love the old vintage well made parts. They were made when people had pride and it wasn't just about making money.

The gold 753 Raleigh is almost certainly an SBDU bike, probably from the early 1980s – the serial number should start with "SB". The drilled dropouts are also an SBDU feature. I had those gold-ano Galli brakes on my first Raleigh; bought 'em at Lickton's.

Also, according to Sheldon Brown, the Raleigh track bike dates from 1971. Also also: Sorry to hear about the lost footage from Eddy Rando and Auburn. I was at both and those were great events. I think you interviewed me about one of my bikes in Boulder – can't recall which one, though.

I don't normally like titanium or tracks but I will make an exception in this case that flame Trek is pretty badass and I love that Merlin

I had a Raleigh Gran Prix from 1972 or 1973 i think.  It had Reynolds 531 tubing.  It came with that color combo, and the reverse was also available, white with the blue panels/trim.

Nice! Thanks for sharing!

I carried Holdsworth in the early 80's from Security Bicycle Accessories in Hempstead NY. They came in the coolest foam boxes, The Special with one boss was the most popular. Touring and pro racing but no chrome on any from about 1980.
Picked up 4 24" Specials from defunct Chicago Cycles.

This guy deserves his bikes!

Gold Raleigh in 753 is nice. The Team Red and Black was the nicest by far. I have a Raleigh Road Ace in 531pro from 1987 with Shimano 600EX so the pre cursor to Ultegra that came out in 1987. Upgraded to Mavic MA40s. That bike was my life but that Red and Black is Fire. The Holdsworth was maybe 87, lugs say late 80's. Square crown forks also say late 80's. That Holdy had some seriously nice paint. Thick Black. My bro had a Holdy with Triple rings and he loved riding with Karrimor panniers. Man the 80's just came flooding back

My 1972 1st year Schwinn Voyageur came with a dura ace crank and chainring protector, as did most Schwinn's with the dura ace crankset !!!

I have a Dura Ace crankset of that era and they did come with a chain guard as an option. Lance would never have been caught dead with a chain guard on his octa links. Stress runs along the surface and depending on variables etching can cause stress risers. You do go over the bikes too fast. Your eyes are higher def. than the video. Very cool bikes

I think  that the gold Raleigh was offered as a frame set for Raleigh USA. I remember seeing a brochure years ago where they advertised special 753 tubed frames.

Love these TREK-Collection he's got there! They are in my opinion best riding Roadracers and do have a classic look! Wonderful. 🎉

Great video . Super interesting. Take as long as it takes to look at all these bikes.

quick comment on the gold Raleigh... the "oversize" seat stay caps and the stickers on the chainstays are typical of the SBDU (Specialist Bicycle Development Unit) in Ilkeston, England.  This was a small group run by Gerald O'Donovan that made their very best frames.  Best known for the Team frames made of 753.  I've got one in the classic Team colors, and the workmanship rivals that of a custom builder.  As others have noted, look for the serial number on the BB shell in the SBxxxx format.  SB stands for Specialist Bicycles.  The same 4 digit number should be on the steerer tube too.

Thanks for sharing John 👍 great bicycles enjoyed seeing them all🚴‍♀️

The purple decal on the chrome Paramount looks like the seat tube decal from a bike boom Turin. Turin bike shop sold tons of french made Turins in the early 70's. The decals were really colorful and unique.

Wow, that accident description is crazy. About 1 year ago I was T-boned by a motorcycle going ~40mph. Front wheel was destroyed, bars bent, small dent in the down tube of a LeMond 853 but the frame is still straight. I walked away from the incident but it took me a while to get back on that bike.

A High Flange Family 😎 Excellent Collection

The Raleighs are SBDU
