They laughed when veteran Caleb Ward chose a mountain cave over a normal home. With only Maverick, his loyal German Shepherd, beside him, Caleb prepared for winter while the people of Windridge dismissed him as a broken man hiding from the world.
Then the blizzard arrived.
As snow buried the valley and homes began to fail, the same cave people mocked became one of the safest places on the mountain. Caleb and Maverick are forced to protect frightened survivors, ration what little they have, and face dangers that come from more than just the storm.
This fictional veteran and dog story is about loyalty, survival, humility, and the quiet strength of helping people who once judged you.
