As a Real Life Camera Man. This video is a Great example of how to properly use camera in blender. The use of Camera rigs are great although I usually use a Handheld Gimbal for stability. 😅

In blender 4.2.7 LTS you should put a "Track To" constraint rather than the "Damped Track" constraint because it makes the camera view rotate if you don't want that use "Track To" constraint

I've been putting a cam under an empty, which is also the focus point. By rotation and moving this parent empty, you can make the coolest motion around stuff and scaling the empty is also the distance to the focus object.

That alone will make you camera work A MILLION times easier and better. And the simple system works on every 3d software and even after effects.

Im a dop and a director and as good as it is to know the wild camera path technique, always try and avoid impossible camera movements when doing CGI. This is what always gives away the cgi, this is why we love the original Jurassic park (1) and hate the new ones, this is why people say Cgi is going worse and worse, this is why avengers looks so fake while Original star wars still holds up. Imagine yourself with all the tools and sometimes even limiting yourself for a camera placement can add realism to your cgi scene. Tripod, crane, and dollies are your FTW devices (movements)!

Great video! One thing to note is that adding a NURBS curve instead of a Bezier curve is easier to make camera paths with, as you don't have to deal with handles that want to go everywhere. Also, you can add manual rotation to the camera for better manual view rotational control by adding a copy-rotation constraint to the camera, and setting the target to your Focal Target. This allows you to control both the focal point, camera aim and rotation, relative to the focal point with one handle (just using the focal target).
