The Beasties blended rock and rap in a way that no one before had. They were the shit

The 80's were truly a magical time. The last generation before the internet and we all loved each other.

The Beasties are world champion shit talkers. It’s part of the reason we all love them. This was back in the day though before groups started to take all that stuff seriously. With the Beasties it was tongue in cheek. It was comedy.

The 80's will never be had again. I'll never forget the 80's. What a time.

The best three Jewish rappers ever. I'm 62 years old and I'm still rocking them while I work out.

At this time it was the Beastie Boys, Run DMC and a young LL Cool Jay wreaking havoc on the music scene...  sooooo good

No Sleep Til Brooklyn was a reference to No Sleep Til Hammersmith by Motorhead. Everyone loved Motorhead. Eight Days A Week was a Beatles song, everyone knew the reference at the time. The guitar player doing the solo was Kerry King from Slayer. Slayer was a thrash metal band who were the only non-rap band on Def Jam at the time. King played on this, and Public Enemy sampled them for their song She Watch Channel Zero?!

Old school 70s 80s 90s was 🔥  back in the day and still bump my music

I was in middle school when Beastie Boys came out and have been listening to them ever since.

I was 13 when "Licensed to Ill" came out. It was a joy to see the progression of the Beastie Boys.

I'm a metal head and a big fan of Beastie boys❤❤❤

the b boys turned everything upside down , rap  rock and white boys doing the thing that's all about the black hip hop game , and its fkn awesome and you cant deny the talent .

They were originally Punk Rockers who turned to rap. Hence their unique style.

Yes! You are looking at a time in history when nobody called everything racist. We poke fun at each other's race and it was a JOKE. We laughed. It was funny and nobody started crying.

I recommend Sure Shot for your next Beastie's reaction.

The Volkswagen emblem he was wearing around his neck was essentially to make fun of the people that had been wearing Mercedes emblems around their necks around that time. He thought that was silly, so he wore something even sillier.

Their entire catalog is indeed worth checking out. One of the most important groups in history. A lot of their videos are funny and creative. This was from their first album from 1986, same as The New Style. Fight For Your Right is another one from that album that you shouldn’t for a couple of reasons. One, it was their first big hit. And two, for their last album before MCA passed away they made another video called Fight For Your Right Revisited that is supposed to take place right after the Fight For Your Right video. It is a half hour long and contains an insane number of celebrities making cameos. It is actually for the first single off that last album, which is a song called Make Some Noise, but there are two versions of videos for it. The longer version with all the celebrities is found by searching for Fight For Your Right Revisited. It is about half an hour long but is definitely worth watching. If you search for Make Some Noise you’ll find the version that’s edited down to be a more normal length for a music video, but the longer one is the one to watch.

She's Crafty!!!!

RIP MCA ❤
