Decades before Quirks became widespread, there was a place known as Teyvat. It remained hidden from the rest of the world for centuries. Uninfluenced by global politics or modern evolution, Teyvat became a strong and mysterious place—focused on military strength and deep spiritual beliefs.
When Quirks started appearing in other places, Teyvat didn’t get involved. The people observed everything from behind. They saw how Quirks changed the world—Hero Agencies appeared, and society shifted. Scholars in Teyvat took notes and compared it to their own system. Unlike Quirks, which anyone could be born with, Visions were rare—granted to a chosen few. To the people of Teyvat, Visions weren’t random mutations but sacred gifts. To the outside world, that idea was unsettling.
Over time, this difference in power systems caused tension. The world outside believed Quirks were the future. Teyvat believed in the order of Visions.
By the time All Might became a symbol of peace in Japan, rumors of a strange school called Teyvat Academy began to spread. Secret governments and top heroes were already aware of it, but to most people, it sounded like a myth.
“It’s just a cult on an island.”
“They don’t even have Quirks—how can they be heroes?”
That was what most of the world thought. To outsiders, Teyvat Academy wasn’t a school—it was a strange, dangerous place full of fanatics with weird powers. In a world that praised Quirks as the peak of human evolution, the Vision system felt unnatural… even threatening.
Some whispered that Visions were a threat. Others were fascinated, saying it was proof humanity could evolve in more ways than one. Many just didn’t know what to believe.
Heroes worried they could upset the balance. Villains wondered if they could steal that power.
The Academy was split into 7 elemental dorms, each connected to one of the Archons: Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, Sumeru, Fontaine, Natlan, and Snezhnaya.
Students are trained in many things:
Combat, using swords, polearms, bows, and even hand-to-hand skills.
Vision control, studying element theory and how to sync their powers.
Missions outside the island, guided by the Adventurer’s Guild.
And though Teyvat had no “pro hero system” like Japan, the world eventually began referring to their greatest fighters as “heroes” anyway, out of habit. The difference was, in Teyvat, titles weren’t brands for agencies or licenses—they were earned through deeds and trials. Their names weren’t stage names or flashy aliases but carried weight, history, and culture.
Eventually, despite all the secrecy and rumors, a deal was made: a Hero Exchange Program between Teyvat Academy and U.A. High School.
Publicly, it was called a partnership between two hero schools, meant to share ideas and culture. But in truth, it was a test—a careful experiment to see if students with Visions and students with Quirks could live, train, and work together. No one knew what would happen if the two power systems mixed… or if they would even survive each other.
