This album was my “summer of 78” soundtrack!
For me, it was the last classic Stones record.
I LOVE how much you two appreciate the Stones!
Peace

They weren't the Bad Boys for nothing...

Do the whole album. It’s bad ass!

FYI miss you was the biggest hit on this album , i like shattered!!!

The Stones understood that sometimes, or most of the time, rock music should be fun and dirty and obnoxious, with no socially redeeming value. I love that approach.

This album has a funky,disco,r&b,blues...got it all!

The entire album start to finish is great!🔥

It’s such a great album! Rock, country, reggae, blues… my absolute favorite band ever!!

This stuff NEVER gets old.

Something about the Rolling Stones is just incredibly listenable. Whether it's just in the background or you're focusing in on every element of the song, they're just a great band.

One of my first LP's bought back in the day with my paper route money. Still have it. Thanks for the reaction and making me remember how good it is! BTW your subs is nearing 31k! Grats.

You guys deserve allot more subs that for sure.

This album is quintessential Stones. Everyone raves about the Mick Taylor era, but this right here IS the Stones.

When criticized about the song Mick said “f*** em if they can’t take a joke” He later wrote ‘waiting on a friend’ to smooth out feelings

This album is so good; one of my favorites.  I hope you check out the rest of it.

After this album came out, Saturday Night Live had Garrett Morris (who was the one black cast member) do a guest editorial on the Weekend Update segment. He comes on saying he heard that the song says certain things about black girls, and he is very concerned, and “I just have this to say to you, Mr. Jagger…. where can I find these girls?” 😂😂😂

The cover of the original vinyl album had die cast cutouts of the women’s faces, and the dust jacket inside had the faces of The Rolling Stones members along with some female celebrities such as Lucille Ball, Judy Garland, and Raquel Welch. The images of the celebrities were used without permission so they had to change the art to remove the womens’ faces for subsequent pressings. So what you’re seeing on the cover here is the revised cover with the women’s faces removed, and all that’s left is The Rolling Stones.

One of my favorite albums evah❤

Some Girls definitely stands out, along with a few other albums, as part of Summer 1978.
As a 13 yr old, "some Puerto Rican girls is just dyin'' to meet you..." this line got me.

The faces on the Some Girls cover are actually the Stones and the blank faces were celebrity women that were on the original released cover that were removed because of legal issues.... The original cover is a collectable and worth $$$$$

Loving that you two are digging deeper into the treasure trove of Stones songs. There's so much more to hear from this band - please don't stop. You've only scratched the surface, believe me.
