Thinking about moving to Mazatlan, Mexico? Mark shares his personal experience and why he chose this city for a healthier lifestyle.
Mark, originally from Salt Lake City, relocated to Mexico specifically to manage his medical conditions. In this conversation, he explains how the cleaner air and better accessibility in his new home have made a significant difference in his daily life. If you are researching potential destinations, hearing his perspective on why he loves the area provides a helpful look at real-world expat life.
He also breaks down the current rent prices in Mexico for those curious about the financial side of the transition. Understanding the actual cost of living in Mexico is essential for anyone planning a move, and we hope this insight helps you navigate your own relocation journey with more confidence.
FYI- As a US or Canadian passport holder, visitors can enter Mexico as a tourist and receive a permit for up to 180 days. Because Marc stays for six months or less at a time, he leaves the country before his tourist permit expires and receives a new permit when he returns.
However, the exact number of days granted on a tourist permit is always at the discretion of the immigration officer at entry.
Marc doesn't qualify for residency, so he does this to be able to "stay in Mexico" for the 6 month period. With the known risk that immigration agents can limit his next entry.
