Fun fact: Todd McFarlane (the guy that created the Spawn comics) did the animation for this video...

Dude, as a huge metal fan, hearing you say "Some things don't have words. Some things just have sound. What is that sound!?" resonated so much with me.

It's crazy that his instant impression of the "beat boxing" is better than any of us have accomplished.

Holy crap this guy has a good ear. He nailed that strange bit perfectly.

Korn, much like Linkin Park, was one of the first groups who really caused a shift in the genre. Fusing rock/metal and hip hop elements of rapping & heavy bass, Korn is truly a pioneer in the rock/metal genre. Crazy to think this song came out 22 years ago.

when you looked at your lava lamp to make sure it was ok. i felt that.

So what the lead singer is doing during that break down is basically skat. It's an old jazz thing to just fill with various sounds but he takes it to a raw metal place. They're an absolute blast to see live, the energy they bring is amazing.

The release when Jonathan Davis shouts GO in this is one of the most high-impact drops in music. Tremendous song from a solid album. :)

As a kid that grew up bullied in the 90's I can't tell you how much Korn's albums saved me. The sad thing is there were kids just like me all over the country. I think Korn really tapped in, saved a lot of us.

I've always loved how Korn is so heavy on the bass

“him just expressing himself” is definitely the best way to explain Korn and his voice particularly

Im aging myself. But Korn got me thru my trauma and teens. The lyrics, the anger. I'm still here

I used to listen to Korn and SOAD as an angsty, angry teenager back in 00s
Now I'm a 33 yo angsty, angry teenager and I still do :D
Glad you enjoyed it

I generally don't recommend tracks to react to since I enjoy most things you post regardless, but I'd recommend their track "Falling Away From Me".

REACT TO "Falling Away From Me" by Korn!

He's a big fan of scatting, and instead of using scat classically like the scat man, he turned it into something he could use in rock. One of things that always stuck out to me about Korn, is when he goes off like that. One of their really old songs "Twist" from "Life is Peachy" has a lot of scat vocals.
