My husband dragged me to a fundraising event his employer had a few years ago and the local library had a bunch of books they were giving away to anyone who donated. I came home with the first volume of Dark Tower and Needful things in hardcover. I was riding that book high for weeks
Most of the Stephen King books I read, I read over 20 years ago. So it is difficult to make a top 10. But my favourite is definitely The Stand. Favourite novella The Body. I loved Stand by Me without knowing that it was based on a book. When I found out I got the book and so my reading life began. 😊
Pet Sematary is my absolute favorite. I read it during a dark time in my life where I was struggling with grief so I resonated with the story deeply. King has a way of moving me with his stories even though he writes about horror. Absolutely love his work.
I’ve only read The Shining, Pet Semetary, IT, Insomnia, and the entire Dark Tower series and I fell in love with Roland and the world of Gilead so YES, Gunslinger all the way for me too!
The Stand is my absolute favorite. Wizard and Glass is probably my second along with under the dome. Wizard and Glass was just so perfect that my last tattoo is a Dark Tower tat. I’m so glad you mentioned under the dome as well. I started reading it when the horrible miniseries started. I loved the show (at first) and just couldn’t wait for season two. I started the book and was hooked by page 2. I said immediately “that miniseries is trash” lol. I do agree the ending was terrible, and Big Jim’s ending was completely unsatisfying. However, as a whole, the book is fantastic.
