I would like to apologize for informing or retraumatize everyone of this ship’s existence but I’m sadist.

Also, I will go back to doing reviews soon!

I understand Batgirl lustng after Batman, but him returning her feelings is insane

"Robin is the most-popular pairing with Batgirl... when's he's not banging the alien"
This was absolute gold😂

The fact that DC allowed Batman to have sex with Batgirl before ever allowing him to have sex with Joker is a crime

There are 2 rules:
1. Don't bang your friend's daughter
2. Don't bang your son's gf

Batman broke them both

Fun Fact: There is an alternate universe where Batman takes over the world and Jim Gordon evades his cameras for weeks, figures out his secret identity, tracks him down, beats the shit out of him, strips Wayne industries of all of its assets, than throws him in jail.

This is what i envision whenever i see this ship.

Imagine the influence if they'd actually ran this story arc early on in a way where she had a crush, and Batman politely turns her down, explains why this isn't going to be a thing, and they work through that in a way where they can continue to fight crime together, and she moves on appropriately. Would have given young men an example of both being able to set boundaries, and also having some conscious awareness of problematic situations to avoid.

"He's known her since she was either 13 or 15"
I believe the dialogue implies that the last time he SAW HER was when she was either 13 or 15. He could have actually met her much earlier than that, indeed, somehow worsening this whole disaster of a ship.

1. Best friend daughter
2. Age difference
3. Was dating the surrogate son
4. Why did she gloat about this in Return of the Joker?

The absolute worst part of trying to get into Gotham based media. I still go for Catwoman and Batman because they are at least messed up together in the right ways for me.

Bruce is like a second father to Barbra, this ship should never had happened. It's distasteful, disgraceful, deplorable. Just no.

I was in a theater for Killing joke. When they started making out the entire theater was literally shouting their disapproval. One guy behind us shouted "No! He's old enough to be your daddy!" An apprentice having feelings for an older, mentor figure is far from original, and it can be grounds for some interesting drama and character development. However almost universally having the mentor act on or even have the same feelings is considered wrong.

I have to be grateful towards this horrifying ship because it has successfully killed my nostalgia for the old animated DC shows and why I no longer want Bruce Timm anywhere near a DC project ever again

Honestly it would have been better if they made Barbara have a secret crush on Bruce and him not returning her feelings.

I actually saw The Killing Joke in a packed theater when it first came out. It was dead silent when that scene came up. You hear a pin drop, everyone was so collectively confused and horrified.

the Batfamily should have a "no dating between members" rule. by which i mean; this should be a rule the writers stick to.

The age difference is literally in their names! BatMAN and BatGIRL!!! She isn’t a BatWOMAN, she’s way too young to pair with Bruce!!! 🤢

"I’m 7 weeks pregnant"

"I’ll have to congratulate Dick"

"He’s only been back for 3"

"I was talking about mine."

I feel the same way when Catwoman comes onto Dick either in the comics or any of the animated stuff. The idea of my Dad's ex-girlfriend flirting with me when in some continuities she known me since I was a kid gives me the heebie-jeebies

Apart from how fucked up this pairing is on an ethical level, it makes no sense for Batman's character. This is a guy who, while in a healthy relationship with Silver St Cloud (who's his own goddamn age), literally wept at his parents' graves because he felt like he was betraying them by being happy - that he deserved to be miserable for the rest of his life as penance for letting his parents die.

He's so duty bound and guilt-ridden that he can't have a normal relationship without feeling like he's doing something wrong, and yet this is the guy who breaks so many boundaries to sleep with a girl that he only seems half-heartedly interested in at best?
