2026 UPDATE: Video originally created in 2024, but all hotel quality checks and verified as accurate for 2026 travel.

Khao Lak is a serene town located in Phang Nga province. The town boasts several stunning white sand beaches and offers far more serenity than Phuket, making it a top destination for both Thais and foreigners alike

HOW TO GET TO KHAO LAK

Phuket International Airport, 90 km from Khao Lak, is the closest airport. Many Thais choose to rent a car for the drive, but taxis offer a convenient alternative. Also, I suggest reaching out to your hotel to arrange private transportation for a more seamless experience.

ADDITIONAL TIPS:

2026 UPDATE:

1. Some resorts now offer boat departures to Similan Islands directly from their own beach, so you can skip the long, crowded van ride to Thap Lamu Pier. Inquire your hotel concierge for more details.

2. Tickets to Similan islands must be purchased through the official DNP E-Ticket system. Many tour operators include this in their price, but they now require passport details at least 24 hours in advance for the 2026 season registration. The park is open only from Mid October to Mid May.
