When my brother died I was not ok, for months I struggled with horrible depression. He came to me in my dream and spent time with me, he got up to leave I cried in my dream begging him not to go. He turned and said don’t worry it’s not forever, I’ll come get you when it’s your time. After that dream I no longer fear anything, I know when I’m ready I will see him again. I know God sent him to me to help me move on and know it’s not forever.

The day my dad died I had a very clear vision of him hiking in the woods (he was an outdoorsman who spent his entire career with the Forest Service) and a big pack of dogs following him. These were dogs who loved him in his life as well as a few I didn’t recognize (probably from his childhood). He turned and looked at me and gave a salute before continuing on his hike. I will never forget it and I will never believe that was not real. It has given me so much comfort after losing my beloved daddy. ❤

I am an ER doctor, Ive seen a lot of death and unfortunately my dad passed away last year, in my experience before death pt's have a "surge" where they are better have more energy, etc. They always want to go home. My dads focus was getting home and he almost got out of bed. He also really wanted to see my mom who was out doing errands. I was the last person to see him lucid, I promised I would take him home. That was the day that I invoked hospice. He died in the hospitals. He was 53, it was hard to accept the cancer could eat away at him so fast. Now I tell families you have a window in which you can take them home to die in peace. Dont miss the window.

My father died at 54 from cystic fibrosis. I asked him on his death bed , are you afraid of dying daddy. My father said , why would I be afraid of the most natural part of living, no son I am not afraid, and I am ready to see my creator.

My grandma saw her mom when she passed away. The day she died she opened her eyes, after not being awake for several days, and said her mom was there to take her home.

It happened to my nephew. he was only 34 and became septic. He was very much atheist. He was always close to his grandpa (my dad). He told me “ I believe!” That his grandpa told him he is dying but it would be ok because he would be there with him to help him. He also told me things that only my dad and I knew. It was a relief when he passed to know that my dad was the one that was there to help him cross over. It was literally the only thing that kept me sane. He was very close to me and was like a son to me. That was in 2016. I still miss him terribly.

I’m and RN and have sat with many many patients as they took their last breath. Several passing patients saw men in black with black hats, loved ones that had passed away previously, and men that they claimed were saints.
There were 2 patient deaths that stick out to me.
The first one was a woman that I absolutely adored. She was a sweet southern woman with no family. My coworker and I were holding her hands when all of a sudden we both had an overwhelming, warm, loving feeling hit us like a wave. Even though her body was still breathing loud, rattling with every breath, we knew that we had just felt her spirit leave. That was in 2009 and I have never felt it with any patient since.
The second experience that stands out was a really sweet woman that I found sitting on the edge of her bed staring right through me while apologizing to someone over and over. She kept saying “but I didn’t know it was going to happen. I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt her”. She was hysterical and I couldn’t snap her out of it. We had someone help lay her back down and sit with her. She died after my shift. I’ve never seen someone so scared in my life. She was repenting and begging to be forgiven and spared. I don’t want to ever find out who she was talking to

Hi Josh, Austin, and Daniel! I live in Louisville, KY, and I'm happy you're covering Waverly Hills Sanatorium. It's world famous for its haunted history. After it closed in 1961, it reopened as a nursing home in 1962. My grandmother was actually a resident there when it was a nursing home, and she sadly passed away in 1973, before I was even born. My mom has told me about the terrible care she received: my grandmother suffered from dementia, and they treated her with electronic shock treatments. Her wedding rings were stolen by an employee. The nursing home was eventually shut down due to poor reviews and treatments of the residents who lived there. I truly believe the majority of the ghosts who roam the halls of Waverly Hills are the nursing home residents who were treated so badly.

In 2019, right before Covid happened, my grandpa was in hospice. My family and I were around his bed and he looked at an empty spot behind me and my mom and blew a kiss then passed away right after. We believe my grandma came to get him.

My mother was in the hospital in 2018 and swears she died, but she did not. She saw Jesus and told us that he said there was a place for her and then said he said more but she was not suppose to say. A year later she was eating dinner with my sister, who she lived with, and was having her favorite dinner. My sister noticed she was missing her mouth and asked her if she needed to go to the hospital, she said yea. She walked on her walker to her room, dressed nicely, and walked to the car. On the way to the hospital she said "this is not the same as before." My sister made sure everyone knew. She went into hospice the next day and the follow day 11-28-2019 (almost a year to the day from the year before) she passed away with such a happy look on her face. She never made the noises the nurses told us to expect. She was at peace.

I worked at a nursing home and we had this grey cat that roamed freely through the building. She would get loving and pets from everyone but not stay with the residents very long .. unless it was close to their death. We always knew if that cat was laying on a residents bed all day and all night it was literally time to call the family and Dr. That cat was never wrong.

8 months pregnant with my 2nd here and your random speech about the amazingness of birth has me in tears. I held my grandmother as she passed in early 2020, and then a little while before my first (who is partly named after my grandma) was born in 2022, I dreamt that my grandma handed me my baby. Not sure what I believe in all this, but I do know that it was a beautiful and comforting experience.

my grandparents were together for 70 years before my grandpa passed away. my grandma lasted a few more years but her dementia took a steep decline after his passing.

she got covid and we knew she wouldn’t make it thru it (she was 92) - but at the end, she said my grandpa was coming to pick her up so they could go home. we all knew and it was actually incredibly comforting for us too. that was almost 3 years ago and it still makes me cry.

they were soulmates. i have no doubt they’re together again.

I was a Trauma Step-down nurse for 30+ years and had been a Nurses Aide in a SNF for 6 years while in high school and college. I had multiple experiences of people talking about seeing a deceased loved one shortly before they died. I also had 1 older lady who asked me to bring a cup of tea for her mother. The lady was in her mid-80’s, so I figured hmmmm. She swore her Mother was there, so I brought a cup of tea and asked her where to place it. She said to put it on the nite stand, of course, where her mother could reach it. She died a few hours later.

There’s also a well-known phenomenon where a dying patient will rally, be hungry, want to walk, etc, whereas they had been almost moribund. Most nursing staff realize that this rally usually means the patient will die within 24-48 hrs. It’s really hard to prepare the family, since they see a rally as a sign of healing. In my experience, it happens about 75% of the time.

I lost my daughter in 1998, at the age of 11. Because I wanted her at home. The 2 weeks before she walked on she was seeing her grandma, and angels. It was amazing watching her interact with them

Near death survivor here! I remember after I tried to un alive myself when I was 18 and I was in the er triage room so I thought. IT was very dark I could hear sb calling me . A sweet familiar voice it was my grandma. she had passed a few months prior. she grabbed my hand and we started walking towards the light once we entered the light I gasped and I opened my eyes and there was a team of doctors and nurses standing over me. I could hear my foster parents crying in the corner I couldn’t talk or move anything but my eyes. months later I was in therapy talking about it and my therapist told me I was hallucinating but I really think it was my grandma saving me because it wasn’t my time yet. idk but it was freaky and I still think about it till this day I’m 22 now

I lost my sister on Christmas morning in 2018.She said she saw my grandpa who was the last to pass away in my family before her.

My grandma, when she passed, was talking to family members who had also passed, her mum and brother in particular she was calm and lucid when she was in periods of waking told my mum don't worry about me they are waiting.
My grandad passed 2 years after her and was suffering terrible dementia but before he passed, he became lucid and said her name after years of forgetting it, and said she's waiting for me.
Believe it or not, I think there has to be something there.

Please don't poke fun anyone because I've never shared this with anyone but my coworkers and the family of the patient, but I have worked in skilled nursing facilities for over a decade. I get really close to a lot of people I care for and I bring in baked goods for them, I even take special requests. I had a patient for 3 years and every other Friday I would bring her and her hallway neighbors Marzipan cookies, they have a really distinct smell. Well when she passed I volunteered to help the family pack up her belongings over the course of a week and each time I came to her apartment the entire hallway filled up with the smell of Marzipan cookies, the neighbors were even coming by to ask if I had baked these specific cookies but I hadn't. I've had 2 other experiences that scared me quite a bit, but this was the only one witnessed by others and I found it really comforting, her family did as well.
