In the first episode Beth needs to stop calling herself a Marine . I have brothers cousin and an uncle who have earned that title. If she can’t pass Boot Camp she is not a marine. The mother-in-law doesn’t need Beth permission to investigate whoever she wants to. I don’t blame her at all for being suspicious of Beth and not wanting Beth as a daughter-in-law if she’s been married that many times something is seriously wrong.
