We think you are speaking to all of us born in that era. You have an easy way about you that is comforting to watch. We sold our house and belongings about 10 years ago and bought an RV and traveled the US and Canada living in it full-time. Some thought we were nuts. We enjoyed it until we didn't and now we are into cruising. We always say, do it till you don't want to, and change it up again!

Love this episode, thanks for sharing. For us it is less about breaking the rules of “what” retirement looks like and more like ”when”. People think we’re either irresponsible or billionaires! And giving ourselves permission to not know what life looks like in 10 years has been such a release. Thanks for verbalizing what many of us are feeling!

I like the approach of arriving in a city with a largely open slate and letting it come to you. Slow travel makes this possible, and for us it's a huge benefit - and in many ways sets us apart from the traditional tourist. Without fail, we discover fascinating facts, sites, foods and hidden gems of our new city. Every place has discoveries to make. We also make it a point to utilize public transportation, local shopping and supermarket scenes whenever feasible - not only for practical purposes, but for cultural immersion. Haven't been driven by guilt per se - but we do have a sense of duty to an extent to explore and discover where ever we may find ourselves.

I just love your reflections. Thank you. I hope the younger generation is really listening to you as I can attest to the fact that the older I am the harder it is to travel. I hope I have another couple of trips in me, but truly wish I had made time to do more when I could still move better.

When we took our first trip it ended up being almost a year. Three kids, my wife and myself. I bought three one way tickets to Spain and reserved an Airbnb for a month. That was our planning. We spent so many days just waking around sitting and eating etc..We saw very few gotta sees and just lived. Watching your video I was like they're describing how we traveled.

I love this so much! Especially the idea to feel time rather than to fill it! Like you, I also love how life evolves. A couple of years ago, I got the travel bug after 15 years of not going abroad. And now I'm making YouTube videos about my trips! I never saw that coming. Here's to an exciting and unpredictable life!

Finding joy in the little things and quiet moments is something I learned very early spending time in Italy as a girl. The Italians have a saying "dolce far niente." The sweetness of doing nothing. Just when I think I can't love y'all more, you go and make a video like this! So spot on, and a lovely insight into your decision making. I'm back at teaching - and editing - after my lovely summer trip to Europe. Yesterday, I was in line for lunch during pre-planning and loads of people were asking about my trip and saying how brave I was to do so much of my trip solo. I said, "It was either go solo or don't go. I decided to go." A couple of people said "Yes!" I was a little scared beforehand, but bravery won out. There are no rules. There is no manual. Just go and figure it out. Face all of your feelings head on. Adjust as needed. Thanks guys!
