On November 27, 1989, a plane exploded minutes after taking off from Bogotá. On board were 107 people. The presumed target, a Colombian presidential candidate, had ultimately changed his plans and never boarded the plane.

Je suis colombien, je suis né à Medellin et j'y habite.
Même si je suis né 10 ans après la mort d'Escobar et que je n'ai pas vécu la terreur de ce qu'était vivre en Colombie fin des années 80 et début des années 90 c'est ma responsabilité en tant que jeune du 21ème siècle de faire tout ce qui m'est possible pour ne pas répéter la même histoire.
Je sais que cette sombre tâche de notre histoire nous poursuivra (peut-être mais j'espère pas) éternellement.
C'est à nous de changer la réputation et l'image qu'on donne de notre pays à l'étranger.
