Long answer: I feel that I attach to a certain character a lot and regardless if I marry them, It motivates me to keep them alive and prevents stoicity

i would say that Fire Emblem doesn't need romance. now that doesn't mean i'm against romance being in Fire Emblem, just that while it's fine to have it it's also fine to not have it.

if the developers want a romance story in their Fire Emblem games fine. but if they don't want any romance in their story they shouldn't feel obligated to put one in.

I'm fine with love as long as it isn't shoehorned in (fates) or is there for the sake of bring back mechanics (fates again specifically the child units).

Genealogy had it as a core mechanic (even if you could ignore it) that was part of the story. Fates put it in because it was popular even if the child units makes no sense

I think I like 3 houses + S-supports, meaning not everyone can support everyone else, and some supports only lead to B, while others lead to A, while others lead to S. Though it won't work with child units, because some decisions would prevent you from getting some child units.

I'd say in theory SOV has my favorite system, in theory. By "in theory" I mean if all the supports were amazing or all characters had more than one (Kliff, Silque, Genny etc.) then there would be no question.

the first fire emblem that I finished was sacred stones, and it was mainly because I ship Eirika and Lyon so hard, and I wanted to see how everything was going to end... Oh the painful decision!

If I'm being honest, I liked S supports, but I do get the gripe that people have with it. The only thing that makes me not like the GBA FE's system is the five support limit.
P.S. Another good Cordelia support (imo) that isn't built around her feelings for Chrom, but only mentions them in passing, is her support with Stahl

I would like two types or romance.
Fe4 style romance that has a meaning for having a lover, won't talk to much about that.
Or the gba supports, along with fe9 and 10.
Where you have supports and epilogues.
Where you don't get the payoff until the end. A small little bit about the two.

As opposed to the fateswakening where everyone can marry everyone. In awakening it had a point, I would say. But in fates I felt like it was pushed in and the child units where kinda stupid. Another point is I feel it's less special to have units support. When I played the gba games for the first time and saw support in the menu it was cool. Now everyone can marry everyone. It's boring. Now there are couple gems, ghast has shown that several times. But that's besides the point.

I would argue that it depends overall. If it is inputted in the fe4 or 6-10 style I would like it. Especially fe4.
