small addendum:

at 6:34, i say that the Bluefolf plate video was "leaked to the public". this was incorrect on my part, as the video was actually shared by Blue in a public telegram channel and then shared around by others in that channel.

this doesn't really shift my stance that "gross ordeals like that won't entirely tarnish the fandom's reputation, but be mindful of the stains it leaves behind", but i do feel i need to elaborate on that stance a bit, as i didn't really go into as much detail as i'd like here. mayhaps in a follow up video, who knows.

FurAffinity is cracking down on babyfur art? That's news to me, because every time I search for a particular character, the results are a minefield of diaper fetish art that I constantly have to avert my eyes to avoid. Scroll past one, and I come across another. And they're not tagged as Mature or Adult, so the mature content filter doesn't do jack. They need to take a cue from Derpibooru and let us spoiler or hide tags for art we don't want to see.

Kids get scared off fucking anything, when I was 4-5 i was scared of grandma Moomin which even doesn't exist. Just the word of grandma Moomin would make me tremble according to my mom.

Not even a furry and I think the whole "child crying at a fursuiter" situation is ridiculous. They're a very young child. They cry at literally everything. I can look in my youngest cousin's general direction and she'll start crying for God's sake.

"They probably got their rocks off passing by those kids, stay away from our kids!"

But... They did stay away from the kids? HUH???

When i was a child i saw worse things on an average trip to Walmart than a guy wearing a mascot head at a starbucks

As a child I got so traumatized by home footage of a tractor driving towards the camera that I wouldn't come out from under my parents bed, children will be terrified of literally anything that they haven't seen before or that's out of the ordinary.
The public suiter saw that they scared a child and began to exit themselves from the situation from the looks of it, so literally what is the problem lol

Cringe Culture is dead.
I'm tired of trying to appease to people who are at best going to tolerate me. They're going to paint us as awful people no matter what we do. Just be you, be a good person and touch some grass. Be cringe, embrace it.
I literally do not care what someone does behind closed doors with other consenting adults. That's not our business.

My stance on should people care about the Fandom's reputation is basically in the middle of the two tweets shown. On the one hand, the Fandom is enormous, and one person can't represent everything the Fandom has to offer. So, stuff like a furry getting "exposed" for something that's weird but ultimately harmless isn't really a big deal. Plus, people like Libs of TikTok will attack furries and or the LGBT community no matter what they do. They literally have to post out of context videos with clickbaity headlines to try to paint furries in a bad light. On the other hand, when we do have more serious stuff like Kero or Sappho it's important that thing be addressed and it's made abundantly clear that those types of people aren't welcome. Plus, the Fandom, to a certain extent needs to have good relations with the public. Let us not forget that conventions (one of the staples of the Fandom) require public spaces and therefore good relations with the public, in order to happen. If the public/mainstream media or whatever you want to call it thinks the Fandom is a danger to people, then those events can be shut down.

TL;DR nuance is king.

I actually know Aurel, the guy in the libsoftiktok clip! He was totally filmed without consent (much less his *knowledge*) He's a pretty harmless guy and honestly compared to a lot of things in his life, this is like not the absolute worst thing ever-- even if it's still super unfortunate

The funny thing is the kid didn’t seem to even be that scared. It’s the adults that are blowing it out of proportion.

Turning someone into an infant only to get access to that person's private parts sounds kinda rapey, ngl. "Nothing sexual is going on" while the character threatens with sexual assault. Imho, the problem here isn't the consent part. Turn them into a baby without their consent as a prank or to do literally anything else other than undressing them and I wouldn't care???

I gotta be honest, I'm mostly just angry that a video of someone crapping on a paper plate or walking past a crying kid causes a bigger stir among the terminally political than the constant crimes against life the pillars of their community regularly commit

Child cries after seeing a furry?  I'm sorry, what happened to the right being all "Kids today are too pampered and need to toughen up"?

when I heard the caption "kid cries when they see a furry, when did this become normalized" I was 100% expecting that caption to be from a furry complaining that the kid was crying out of prejudice

Don't bring Uncle Joey into this.

There's a title in that ban list called "Pre-K Sissy Exposed" which feels pretty cut and dry, honestly. I 100% believe there are people in the babyfur community who are a lot more literal than the others

I don't give a fuck if they're two consenting adults, the fandom let's too much shit slide. It's disgusting to do sexual things while pretending to be a fucking child. There a no boundaries in this fandom, and that's where the problem lies, it's not kink shaming it's calling out weirdos. Great vid none the less.

i love how all the predator replies on that furry post are blue checkmark accounts. that tells me enough
