You know this morning of Jan 12th 2026, for some reason I thought about Patrick as he was the one who started me on my musical journey, I know he has medical problems and chronic pain and as I couldn’t master the banjo although I just love the sound, he was the one who encouraged me to try guitar, so I tried it and left the banjo behind, and stopped following Patrick. I loved his videos and felt as if I knew him so every so often I’d check out his you tube channel, and this January was one of those days, but as I couldn’t find anything recent I feared the worst. I obviously came across this video and was saddened to hear how his life turned out, I think he depended on his parents throughout his life. It’s so sad that it has come to this, primarily for him as a person but also for the music community. God bless you.

Hey banjo community I’ve just read some sad news about Patrick apparently he’s in a wheelchair broke/death because he can’t afford to replace his broken hearing aids his mum and dad have past. and looks like this amazing banjo community is not what I thought it was.. I no some people didn’t like him but xuck me how can we sleep at night… let’s get together and send some love to Patrick Costello (money) anyone who can help I’m not that good on stuff like this I don’t want to start a go fund me and him to not get the money any help would be appreciated isa just a someone from uk who is really upset seeing this.. come on guys and dolls let’s look after Patrick and show him some love. Any help would be amazing. I can’t do it because I don’t no how to make sure Patrick gets the money and not get scammed. Isa just really upset please help! Sorry no one probably will see this but just think that it’s shit that he has no one..❤️
