In Obarrio. We’re on the 7th floor out of 23, so not too bad. Was talking with a woman who lives on the 20th with her 17 yr old Down syndrome son and she said her apartment was trashed. Her son was freaking out and froze at the top of the stairs, and some man coming from an above floor picked him up and carried him down the 20 flights. She doesn’t know the man, and hopes she can find him later to thank him. She’s reevaluating living that high up with her son. I’m glad we in Panama City are all okay.

A 7+ earthquake is a huge deal. The Panama City infrastructure seemed to handle it well.

I've experienced 10 earthquakes over the past 10 years, and this 8.0 was the strongest of them...I only want to say that as a senior citizen, the most important thing under these circumstances is to remain calm...in fact, my Number 1 concern during the first 30 seconds of an earthquake is making sure I don't have a heart attack...#1...another very important point for you is not to worry so much about getting out of these high-rises especially since the last place you want to find yourself is stuck in an elevator if the power goes out, which is in fact 'normal' under the circumstances...I don't live very far from you here in Punta Paitilla--I saw my building during the opening moments of your video---and while I'm the last one you'll ever hear say that earthquakes are not terrifying, I've learned that as long as we feel reasonably secure at home, we just ride them out as calmly as possible...again, don't join the scramble to get out of your building, it increases the level of anxiety,  and you're probably the safest place you can be... stay safe!

Aisha, you’re the first person I thought of when I learned  Panama experienced at large earthquake. I hope that you’re ok. Being from California, I can understand what you’re going through, although I’ve never experienced an earthquake of that magnitude (6.9 in 1989). God bless!
