The Yoshinogari Ruins, which attracted attention in June 2023 following the excavation of a stone coffin, are a Yayoi period settlement built on a plateau.
This plateau is the remains of pyroclastic flows from the fourth major eruption of Aso approximately 90,000 years ago.
Huh? Aso? 🌋Was this land, approximately 100km away, really engulfed by pyroclastic flows? I'll explore it by motorcycle and on foot and explain.
