Bear with us? Is there a grizzly coming? I would rather bare with them.

I live here in Cologne - as you can see from the thumbnail- and I was in the 1980-1990 at the photokina, because my father worked for AGFA. And I can tell you: it was really huge !!!! I don´t that the new "photokina" will ever be on that level.

Already got the 600 6/3. I ordered it early, because I often need a light portable lens for birding when I also need to walk a fair distance. Previously used the sigma 500 5.6 but this is lighter and allows a 1.4 TC and 30 fps plus its 100mm longer.

I think new 2.8 zooms are losing some of their interest to the 2.0 zoom race seems to be really heating up 🔥

Got the 600mm for interior architecture.

My dream lens would be 28-135 f2-2.8 with SERVO ZOOM. That would turn my small mirrorless still camera to fully usable eng-video camera with zoom handle.

samyang also made a 35-150mm f2-2.8. Can't wait for 18-300mm with constant f1.8 :)

Ordered
Just purchased the 300 f.2.8+2xTC - Very nice combo and then Sony released the 600 f/6.3. The weight is attractive. If it handles the 1.4xTC on par with what I'm getting out of the 400-800, I'll likely sell the 200-600, 300, while keeping the 100-400 (old version) and possibly the 400-800. I'm really covered with just a couple of lenses and teleconverters. On the fence a little about the 300mm as it's pretty killer at 300 and 420 f./4.0. It might stay and the 100-400 goes. Looking over 50k images, I live at 600mm or 800mm, photographing birds/wildlife. 100-400@400mm for hummingbirds or the occasional landscape. The 400-800 is pretty heavy, the 600's weight even with the TC is attractive to me. Hopefully they will ship on the 15th. It's never been a better time to into photography, lots of great gear from all the brands being produced.

28-135 would be amazing if it has some lens stabilization built-in, I did buy their 60 to 180 but had to return it because there was no stabilization shooting video.

That new 28-135mm lens would be similar to one of my all time favorite lenses on MFT but for full frame(12-60mm) The MFT version goes from F2.8-F4 and is a hella lot lighter and smaller. But it is the range I have been wanting for FF. I have been looking at the 28-105mm F2.8, or maybe a 24-105 F4. The F4 works perfectly for my regular landscape stuff, but I have a few kids getting married and the F2.8 would work better for that.

got the 600 6/3

I'm excited for the the Samyang lens, but I'm also cautious because I've seen reviews where people have said they had to do returns so that they could get a good copy of a lens. So hopefully they fix their QC issues when this releases.

Preordered 600mm, hard to resist a lightweight good quality telephoto. 400mm orders will likely be about 1/3 that of 600mm.

I‘ve pre-ordered the 600/6.3 and I’ve got it in the meantime. It’s so damned fu… light. Incredible! But 6.3 is also a compromise, but if you can live with that, it’s the best everyday super-tele lens in the world.
