Ex-Brit here. Came to Canada in 1964 and never regretted it. I reside in Toronto.

What a beautiful city, we visited Quebec a couple of years ago in February during the festival, which was amazing, if you haven’t been Quebec is definitely worth putting on your radar.

for kensington market it all depends what time of the day you visit, very different at night

My favourite part of living in TO was wandering the streets in the middle of the night and photographing the random graffiti that people wouldn't normally see. I would wander out of the dorm, spark a spliff and just marvel at the stuff that 99% of people pass by. Always felt that graffiti was the rhythm of the city for TO. Such an amalgam of cultures that art was the surest way to bridge the divide

The car actually has Italian herbs, green onions growing in it, along with cherry tomatoes. Food sufficiency.

Graffiti alley is where I feel home. Just a comforting place of art

there is nothing quite like taking in the vibrant street art through Kensington market and graffiti alley on a first visit to the city 🎨

LOL! As someone mentioned below, you ordered a Montreal smoked meat sandwich, which is great, but Toronto's signature sandwich is the peameal bacon sandwich which actually originated at the St Lawrence Market!

I saw a 135kg man leap into the air and land on the glass floor. He landed very hard right next to a couple of 80 yr old women. I was simply shocked by the instant reaction of these 2 ladies. They both leapt off the glass floor and landed gently. It was astonishing.

I grew up around Graffiti Alley and I love it so much

You should check out ward island on the Toronto Islands if you want a quiet retreat from the city that is just 10 minutes away.

Personally I am always proud when people decide to leave their own country to move here. I know the attitudes are quite different south of the border, but for the most part Canadians are happy to have newcomers regardless of where they came from.

Peameal bacon was invented in Toronto, back when we were called Hogtown due to our being a major pork processing hub. If you see it on a menu when you're having breakfast (or if you see it at a grocery/butcher), give it a try! It's delicious. The place you bought Montreal smoked meat is also famous for peameal bacon.

Take the ferry to Toronto Island! Rent a bike and enjoy a ride around the islands. Some great views of the city. Bring your swimsuit as one of the best swimming beaches is on Ward Island. The oldest lighthouse is tucked away there and it has a spooky, haunted history to it. High Park is another beautiful, large park in the city. Biidaasige Park is a new, gorgeous park too. For the "heart of the city / hipster" park, head to Trinity Bellwoods. Toronto does parks really well, with a lot of great public spaces, but these are some of the larger ones that you may enjoy given your proclivity towards nature. :)
