This man can NOT buy a drink ANYWHERE in the city of Philadelphia. True GOAT

At one point in the series against Edmonton, Hexstall fired a puck at Gretzky during a stoppage. Gretzky said "who are you?" Hex immediately responded with "who the f**k are YOU?!"

Met him once and as a lifelong Caps fan jokingly said to him “I just want to thank you for all the times you frustrated the hell out of my team” to which he replied “my pleasure”. What a guy!

Lighting strikes once. Hextall strikes twice. I had that t-shirt as a kid.

Hextall is the embodiment of Philadelphia sports fandom.

Hextall was the heart and soul of that Flyers team. We would not have gotten as far as we did without him!

I randomly met him once. He gave me a coupon for a free hot dog meal. 😂

Every goalie I ever played with was a complete psychopath or the calmest person I’ve ever met

Chelios should have been taken care of long before Hextall had to intervene.

As a long time Flyers fan, Philly absolutely loved the guy.

The most unhinged part of his saga is that he won the Stanley Cup in the front office not on the ice.

I'm from Philadelphia. I grew up through the Hexy years! By and far the best goalie I've ever watched, and he totally fit into the Flyers culture. He will be revered in Philly forever!

When you put that flyers logo on you become a Broadstreet bully “Jeremy Roenick”

I still remember watching that game when he took out Chelios, hadn't seen anything like that before, or since, from a goalie. Absolute insanity.

I lived in LA and was excited to see the Kings play home/away games against the Flyers for a chance to see Hextall play. When he was traded to Quebec I would send my Hextall cards via snail mail and he would sign and send them back. Always have been a Hextall fan and was happy he finally won a Stanley Cup as an asst. GM for the Kings.

I remember when he went after Chelios, Patrick Roy wouldn’t go past his own blue line, and didn’t say a thing to Hextall until the ref had his arms on him, and skating him to the bench.

There was no one incident that was the worst, there were dozens of them.

They have the flyers wives fight for lives carnival for charity back when he still was playing . Carnival was in the old spectrum and they had a small portion of the ice open and hextall in goal and the public could take shots on him . I got to be one of the helpers on skates to collect the pucks out of his net . One of the nicest guys ever ! Was really cool to us !
