FWIW, I think you handled the sponsorship thing like a star. I personally have no idea whether it's a harmful product or not, but you've been humble and graceful about it.
The way you address the push back is a big part of why I keep coming back to this channel (not that I see you getting a lot of it). Sponsorships are always a bit of a gamble, thank you for listening to your viewers and valuing our input.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a creator actually cancel a contract with a sponsorship based on feedback before now. At most, a retroactive apology. I haven’t looked deeply into Füm but it doesn’t seem like it would work for me, and I don’t feel strongly about it other than the fact that it’s overpriced, but I really respect the equal parts grace and savviness you approached this with. Audience trust (whether the incident was overblown or not) is worth more in the long term. Must’ve been a headache for you but I think it was the right thing to do—I may not have minded you sponsoring Füm but I’m not sure how I would have felt about you actively going to bat for them lol.
I'm glad the brand clapped back like that. I am also impressed that they said the dining room was packed with "wonderful customers who happened to leave a little mess behind" and not completely throwing their customers under the bus.
Did you see the clock in the upper left corner? She stood there for at least 30 mins! Watching everyone eat. Like she was waiting for the right moment to capture a “dirty” pic. So weird! Is her life that boring? 😂
I didn't know there was anything happening, and I wasnt offended by the sponsorship at all - but have to say i really love how you handled this with integrity, honesty and transparency. We appreciate you ❤
Sorry if this sounds harsh, but the fact that she didn’t even realize she was being filmed—and that her lies would therefore be exposed—speaks volumes about her intelligence.
Had no problem with the fume ads at all, but like how you’re going about this. Responsible, straight to the point. I enjoy your content a lot and this proves why again.
We love you. We hear you and see you and appreciate you taking accountability and saying it like it is, even when it’s holding yourself to that standard 💗
Thank you for the intro. My personal opinion is that there has not been enough clinical research into products like fume. But I am also fortunate that I never had to quit smoking since I never started.
I am also glad that you have set paramenters around reading comments. The internet is full of "interesting" people.
Oh my goodness! My Time has come. @9:32 "Hyphy" is a term from the California, San Francisco, Bay Area. In the early 2000's there was the Hyphy movement. It was awesome! It was about dancing, having fun, partying, being with friends, amongst other things. We had our own (I'm from the Bay) music, our own dances, our own slanguage! And it spread across the country, a little. It was a defining part of culture during the time... And has just grown and evolved since then. The original Hyphy movement back then was a continuation of all sorts of local knowledge: Black Panthers, Bay Beats, the styles, protests, community, cat calls, neighborhoods, and history. Check out E-40, Be-legit, Nate Dog, Frontline. To get a feel for the music, if you want.
Thanks you Robert So excited to be able to talk about my home. (Now I'll watch the rest of the video!😅)
I appreciate that you don’t come on here with the fake tears and the mellow dramatics. Just taking accountability. We’re all human and we all make mistakes, but when people try to play the victim after they make a mistake instead of being accountable … SoOo cringe. You’re good, I feel like you can tell a lot by someone’s character by how they’re willing to clear the air after making a mistake. Don’t be too hard on yourself. ❤
