In this deeply personal conversation, Jeremy Down recounts the near-death experience he says occurred after his canoe filled with freezing water during a winter snowstorm in Canada. As hypothermia took hold, Jeremy recalls saying goodbye to his wife, his one-year-old daughter, and his family. With two bald eagles circling overhead, he felt the separation between himself and other living beings disappear before seeing a tunnel of bluish-white light spiraling into the lake. Passing through what he describes as two veils, Jeremy experienced an unmistakable feeling of returning home—a place that made life on Earth seem like a short visit that repeats. He recalls joining a collective of familiar souls, witnessing spirits return after death, and watching others separate from the collective to begin new human lives. When his own turn came, Jeremy did not want to leave, but says returning was not a choice. Back in his body, he struggled to shore, where he says the eagles alerted nearby residents who came to his aid. Jeremy also explores his understanding of why we forget our spiritual nature, how our choices affect others, and why he experienced no judgment from the collective. Reflecting on the difficult years that followed and his reconnection through meditation, he shares the importance of being present, easing suffering, and bringing joy to others. His account offers a thought-provoking conversation about reincarnation, free will, our connection with animals, and why he believes our journey on Earth is not yet finished.
