Train Driver's POV Dutch Railways

Hello everyone!

I am proud to be a train driver for the Netherlands Railways, an awesome career with a great company, and I really like to show it off!

Nowadays all around the world, people showcase their jobs: from pilots to ambulance drivers to police officers. On my channel I provide you with a unique, first hand look at what it means to be a train driver. I can announce, with pride, that I have already received a lot of comments from viewers, that due to watching my videos, have decided to become train drivers. Some of them even have already started their training! It is remarkable how many compliments are left by viewers from all over the world, who after watching my recordings, really admire the quality of the Dutch rail system. This is always a big compliment for me and my colleagues of NS (Netherlands Railways) and Prorail!

As a train driver you are responsible for driving safely, on time, smoothly and  in an energy efficient way. All this on one of the busiest railway systems in the world. In my recordings I show you how I manage this everyday, together with thousands of enthusiastic colleagues. More than 90% of our trains run on schedule and that is quite an achievement! But what causes the remaining 10% of delays? I will show you the answer in the "the cause of delays" playlist, so that you may get a better understanding of why your train  is running late.

I was asked by a viewer, if it was actually safe to operate a camera in the cab. I always ensure my camera is turned on before departure and I only turn it off after arrival. Obviously! During the trip the camera is no hindrance and doesn't require any attention. More over, it is evident that, thanks to the camera, I focus completely on the task at hand, so you really can feel completely safe in my train.

I have also been asked before, if it is smart at all, to show how to operate a train. Indeed you will see the actions in my videos, but I give no explanation about my actions, even though I have been requested many times. All rolling stock, hand and signal manuals are available on the web and even Train Simulator shows you how. Although I doubt whether you would be able to move a train one inch at all, without proper practical instructions. Furthermore I obviously do not give out any private information about the company or my colleagues. In the event you are recorded audibly or visibly in any of my videos against your wishes, just let me know.

I really like the fact that you guys place so many kind reactions. It really strikes me that there is a lot of respect for each other in the comment section and the mood is always friendly. It's also quite remarkable that you are very positive about the Netherlands Railways. I hope that my videos will contribute to that positive image of the NS and of all of my colleagues.

And last but not least:

THANK YOU DEAR TRAVELER!

You are the ones that make it possible to enjoy this dream job on a daily basis!

I wish everyone much viewing pleasure!
