Surround the obelisk with magic chalk, the basic sign, to reduce the range in which the rust sickness effects. You read that in the book a few episode ago and never did it >.<

I've stopped throwing out bones and fish bones. I missed out on bone broth for so long!

Greetings, sorcerer! I'm not entirely certain that it works for the mage torches, but certainly you can transmute burned out torches to restore them to their full burn time; entropy is as nothing to the rust mage. I recommend taking the time to read through the recipes for the various items you'll be building, and making yourself a quick-reference of what comes from where, and how it needs to be processed. Certainly, I've found such a grimoire of occulted knowledge is a huge help in working out what's needed before starting to craft; I use the Scribe: Notes and Tasks mod to set to-do lists to make sure I don't miss things at a given step.

I also heartily recommend maintaining both a set of wizard robes and a set of temporal armour, be it gambeson or even metalwork; the robes will strengthen your magical powers, but won't do a lot to turn an orcish spear. Since you're studying the way alone and don't have another player to act as your consor, you'll definitely benefit from having reliable armour, or better yet a decent shield.

Good fortune, and good hunting!

The butchering table is one of the first things I craft just after getting to copper/bronze age, because I can't skip the meat for days, more pelts for animal, enough fat to make bricks out of it, simply BEAUTIFUL.
I still think that, when I experiment the Rustbound mod, I'll first focus on survival, get really cozy and only start to focus in magic after all this. Can't skip meals and we have to be hydrated!

Rust dust goes well in the obelisk

@oldnanstan 2 days ago

Please get a butchering setup before winter!

The resonator can connect the arc furnace to the obelisk at a distance. I have them both outside on a big platform and the arc furnace next to the doorway of a small hut... far enough away from the obelisk so it doesn't affect me (and I have a place to duck into if sentries or other monsters come by and to keep a reed basket of frequently used objects at hand.)

rustbound does have a way to see hp, so there is something to look forward to.

@SmokingElk 7 days ago

Would really love to see you make a small castle. Been following the series, might be a really cool goal to make some towers for your various magical rooms.

Dude I love this mod pack

@Zamboq 7 days ago

You may want to put the butchering stuff in a proper cellar, and you'll get so many bones and sinue that I suggest you get a proper crate for each and they are as you know, way cheaper than chest..

(Also I hate your crop rotation <lack of> but I'm sure I'm not the first one to mentioned and you probably already answer with a good reason or maybe it's more compatible with making content than the proper way to do so)

I'm looking forward to see what else the magic can bring, not the sort of mod I like to play with but I definitely like to watch. Cheers. :D

the mana cost for the wands is on each board. You can see it at the bottom of the flavor text

Consider making a hunting backpack which can carry multiple large game for one backpack slot

Olá dear Ryan

which mod shows the time left on the crops growth? Also can reduce how far the rust sickness travels by placing runestones with the magic chalk around the obelisk and other essence generators.

@brendo7363 5 days ago

My save got corrupted so it was a good excuse to start a new world with Rustbound magic.
So far, I don't like it.
I've been working busily, unlocking this and that and converting bloops to blarrps and collecting crystal whatevers, ritual this and charging that...

Not a single shred of anything interesting or useful so far after about 20 hours of this.
Why?
I don't have even a spell that can make a light, all have is boxes of so far useless trash.
