Me: engaged, furiously taking notes
The classes that i’m actually taking, at the school that I actually go to: 👁👄👁

I majored in art history almost 30 years ago. It is the best major because you have to learn about the history, religion, culture, etc to put the art into their proper context... plus you get to look and think about art! I found it very useful in my life.

Loving the lectures. We need more please!

Prof. Clark I have to get a little sappy here, because I watched this full series (and 2710), and it has given me a whole new depth of appreciation for visual art. I get so much more out of going to an art museum now, knowing the movements, stories, and history that different works came out of. Also, as someone who's no longer a student this gave me a really nice return to the feeling of learning in a college class (keeping that lifelong learner attitude alive). What an incredible gift you've given the thousands of people who have watched this series. Thank you for making it freely available to all of us.

This is exactly what I needed at 12:15 at night :)

I have to do a final exam and i found these classes on youtube. You sir are a damn godsend. The amount of knowledge im gaining is insane. Thank you

I’m not a student of yours but I just wanted to say thank you for posting these lectures- I’m studying to become an art teacher and your videos were so helpful to review for my certification test in art. You have a great sense of humor and made studying so much more enjoyable. Thank you!

The content is top notch I learned a lot from it.

Woo! Hi from Colorado State University! Thank you for keeping your content online-I’m using every resource I can to study for my art degree :)

I love to travel to Europe and have visited many world-renowned museums. Since now we are in the quarantine, it is a pleasure to refuel and have an organized study. Your lectures brings the textbook alive. It is a corroboration of the art museums and ancient sites I have visited. I have learned so much from the four lectures I have watched, and many more to come. You have explained in a way that layman like me can understand too. Thank you so much and keep up the good work Professor Clark!

Woo! im not even in college yet and im excited for a college lecture.

Egypt highly influenced the ancient Hellenes, as they frequently admitted, especially in architecture.  That’s why it’s part of the Western Canon, Egypt’s influence was spread through the Hellenes, as well as more directly to other Mediterranean cultures.  Many other influences came into the Western Canon from the Near East, too.

🤘🏼 all aboard the knowledge train, let’s go!
