Hiii! Omg, I went to UPenn DEEPenn visit last year and you were one of the panel there that was talking about the grad school admission process! Can’t believe I found your YouTube video. Congrats!
Haha hey Brandon. I remember you from DEEPenn STEM a year and a half ago and even talked with you briefly after the grad student panel. I've gotten into UMichigan Physics and am waiting to hear from Penn (another top choice), but considering they're cutting PhD admissions, not holding my breath. This was a fun video to watch, hope you're thriving!
What is most important is the knowledge you acquire and the work that you do, i.e. the papers published, during graduate school. Within a few years of your career, no one will care where you went to graduate school or who rejected or accepted you.
Wow Brandon!!! I did not expect to see your video come up in my recommendations!! Do you remember me - Diana - we were both SULI interns at SLAC living on campus at Stanford? I'm so happy for you that you got both the GRFP and also got accepted to UPenn, Philly is so much fun and you totally deserved to go somewhere amazing as such a bright and motivated intern! Going through this process myself now too. A week ago I got accepted at Northwestern for experimental condensed matter!
Congrats! Good that you decided to approach them again. I'll do my Master's degree in Europe and hope to also do my PhD in the US one day, I hope you have a good time and thx for the inspiring video.
