I remember splitting wood by hand as a young man . We dreaded it when Elm showed up in the pile ! However , it kept us warm in the winter .

The 405 may have had to flex a little but the show of great power shows the true power of the machine 💪🏼

Here in the U.K. back in the day It was traditional to use Elm for coffins, those days are gone. However it is a tough timber although our Elm trees were also depleted with the D.E.D.

Hi Joe - it's Big Rodders in Ireland. Elms are as rare as hens' teeth over here since Dutch Elm Disease wiped out millions of trees in the 1970s.

Great history on the Elm tree. Thank you.

Hi Joe. That box wedge did a great job. I’m sure the super splitter is happy it won’t have to resplit that stuff.

On another note, I saw a classic example of an up sale. Sheetz has a promo going, buy 2 Dr. Pepper 20oz bottles and get 2 free hotdogs. I figured you might like this promo. Ha ha. Have a great day 👍🏻!

The 405 makes the stringy elm look easy peasy. Elaine from Canada here, agree that you’ve got yourself an awesome machine, a long way from the pickup and Poulin. Enjoy your week Joe, cheers.

Joe, Great Video Ron here. The Jappa 405 is the machine. Elm went right thru it with no problem at all. Should be able to handle anything. Today I am cutting some Locust up. I will let you know how it splits. Unfortunately I will not be able to make the Paul Bunyan Show. More details to follow. Keep up your Great Video's. Ron from the Woodyard in Duanesburg NY.

Logan Elm Park is just south of us here in Ashville.... that tree was Massive.... 65 feet tall 25 feet diameter and a canopy of almost 200 feet... Huge Majestic tree. There's also a Logan Elm High school district down here.

Looks like it splits like oak! The Japa goes thru it like a hot knife thru butter! That’s a beautiful processor! I’m in Arizona, we burn a lot of oak and cedar. I’ve never thought oak smells bad. Love your channel. I would love to start a firewood business in my home town in the mountains and get away from the city and the Phoenix heat
