This many years and the client is still worse than mobile games 😭

it's not power creep, it's potential creep

It's cool to see the gold value for all the stats seems relatively unchanged after all these years

bro you said it like nasus w doesnt legit slow for 95% and 70% attackspeed

18:00 while boots were nerfed, all champions movement speed were buffed to compensate

5 different videos structured into one. this was a fever dream for me

Malphite is a terrible example as he is a ult to empower his team to make plays.

No, instead you should just compare champions like Garen in S1-2 to Garen now. Then the insane power creep is undeniable. His Q did not remove slows, his W did not give tenacity, a shield or damage reduction, his E was weaker, his R was magic damages and did not do % missing health, but instead increased by up to 100% based on missing HP, for a cap of like 750 magic damages. This is where the power creep shows. Darius is an other good example.

Kalista is another champion that had to be perma-nerfed because of her mobility, she was an unstoppable menace with her passive.

admittedly im not even halfway through the video, but one point on the high elo simple champ winrates: simpler champions generally have more stats in their kit to compensate, and perform more basic functions. therefore, as counterpicks - which are far more prevalent at higher elos, and can dictate a lane like top almost entirely -, they're preferential to newer, more complex champions with more general agency. you could definitely examine pickrates and counter this, but that seems like the overarching explanation (unless you say that later. in which case i will be deleting this out of shame)
i feel like something of a solution to this is to just add more runes and more items, like the old mastery system; more niche options allows more opportunity for natural evening out, and doesn't drive new players away with complexity but compels more by having infinitely more choice. especially considering all the old, still functional and workable items and runes they have to work with through the games history, it's not an insurmountable undertaking - but, they're scared, and pressured by their conglomorate, so the game stays simple to 'keep wider appeal'
ill still play it though.

Skarner had two mobility obtion, he has way less speed now. RIP Skarner player-base, will always remember.

6:51 You forgot that ksante w also give cc immunity

As a Morde main, mobility creep is depressing and painful to live through.

Funny thing is when he describes K'Sante's W effects and names 5 of them he still misses one more (unstoppable) and that's all before he presses R.

The funny thing with the winrate comparison is that all the new champs with negative winrates were monstrously overpowered and had to be perma-nerfed to stop them from having a 100% pick banrate in the pro scene. Zeri, Yuumi & Aphelios are some of the worst cases of new champions completely breaking the game.

One big thing for lower ELO is I find I really struggle playing against new champs because of the abilities. I can't just say, okay they do X. They can do X, but then later something else happens. Zaahen has no way of showing what his information bar does and you don't know how to either stop it or how to deal with the consequences once it's full

Release op champ -> too op -> nerf it -> nerf didn't target anything problematic about the champs kit -> winrate lowers because no one wants to play the character anymore -> riot thinks it means it's balanced now

I HATE STATISTIC DRIVEN BALANCING HAS NO DEVELOPER LEARNED FROM R6 SIEGE? 50% WINRATE DOESN'T MEAN BALANCED

Normally these kind of videos are absolutely trash, but this one is surprisingly honest and informative.
Good job

Its really impressive how many different gamestyles and champions are balanced together

They say powercreep but forget that twisted Fate had his ult as W and ww ult was point and click with more range than Malzahar ult

I feel you got to a sensible conclusion. There is not really power creep, but there is almost insane feature creep. With season 16 Riot might have gotten one step to close to something like a korean mmorpg. More systems than any newcomer can ever keep track of, heck it is sometimes hard to keep track of everything of even for people who played this game for years.
