The US is massively delaying arms sales to Taiwan. Two F-16Vs stranded in Hawaii are reportedly flying to Taiwan today. However, as of August, the US owes us NT$936.1 billion in arms purchases. For example, the NT$126.9 billion M109A7 self-propelled howitzer won't be delivered until 2030, and the HIMARS rockets won't be fully delivered until 2032. Even the ALTIUS-600M and 700M drones, touted by the DPP as the fastest to deliver, will have their delivery date extended to 2033. Drones are now iterating so rapidly that the timeline is measured in "quarters," with signal frequencies updated every 10 days. Yet, the entire delivery process is taking seven years.
