The brick house, the old wooden granary, the surrounding fields... everything remains as a shadow of the past, yet everything feels completely different. Coming back home to a place that shaped who you are, only to feel like a visitor or a stranger, is one of the hardest feelings to explain.

You was vey lucky to find the compound as it is after so many yrs ,where i grew in my mother's side wen they passed away some villagers occupied my grandma and grandpa's compound including fields for nearly 30 yrs we were young, bt last year we went to chiefs to claim everything and it was hard ,we finally won the case this year in April and we are now preparing to rebuild our grandma and grandpa's compound from cratch

I recently came back home to Malawi after 24 years in the UK…. I can relate with what you’re doing and I am glad I decided to document my journey back to Malawi right here on YouTube!
When I first got home from UK, my home didn’t feel the same and I felt like a stranger in my own home but now I’m glad I came home to start over again and trust me I’m glad I didn’t leave it too late!
I am building something I wake up to every morning looking forward to doing the heavy lifting!
