From September 26 to 28, 2026, a slow-moving nor'easter crawled up the U.S. East Coast from North Carolina to Cape Cod. Atlantic City saw its highest water since Hurricane Sandy, Wildwood, Ocean City and Stone Harbor went underwater, Queens neighborhoods flooded at high tide, and more than 150,000 customers lost power. A falling tree killed a city worker in Brooklyn, and waves tore up Highway 12 on Hatteras Island.
