I worked in a butcher's shop in Duke St. away back in 1963 and used to deliver orders to the folk in many of these streets, and they were very generous at Christmas time and the Glesga Fair, I was loaded
I was born in my granny's house in Ballindalloch drive , 1950 just on the left junction with Meadowpark St . La Cala used to be Davy's a wee newsagent . Not as much changed compared to other parts of Glasgow
Great Video Oor Paul. The refurb tenements are magnificent and a proud testament to the design workmanship of Glasgow's past. The roads are buggered tho!!!
Oh Ya, I worked in a butchers shop in Duke Street many years ago, people used to phone the shop to order their meat and as the boy in the shop I would deliver to their door, at first I had to walk before they shop owner got me a bike, he lived in Golfhill Drive, this was magic to see all the streets again,,,,, and many of the customers would give me a tip for delivering the meat, either a thruppeny bit or if I was lucky sixpence
Glasgow's Dennistoun ( let's take a drive) has it changed
