Paul Mauser's Rage sounds like a pretty sweet metal song about old guns.

I am from Turkey and we call every bolt action rifle, no matter what company or what nation made it, mavzer, Turkish pronunciation of Mauser and we have folk songs about the gun.

I have to say Othias, May, and the gang at +C&Rsenal this was by far my favorite episode of the series. I love how you’ve set the stage up for the up and coming Mauser rifles and how you took Peter Paul Mauser from a name in a book and really made him human. I’m currently saving up to go to college with the hopes of becoming a history teacher. I have often said that history should be taught as the life experiences of men and women in the past instead of just names and dates. I believe that shows like yours, +TheGreatWar, +ForgottenWeapons, +BritishMuzzleloaders, +Capandball, etc... truly inspire people my age to really revolutionize the way we look at, learn about, and share history. Thank you for your hard work and dedication.

"...and the gun can't talk."
You're going to narrate a rifle in the future, aren't you.

The Minute of Mae is nice, but I'm still waiting on a reverse episode where Mae does all the talking and Othais the shooting :-)) Let's hope it will happen at some time :-))

I used to believe that the Ottoman Empire just bought generic leftover Mauser rifles. Man, I was wrong.
Thank you for informing me and many others about this interesting history!

I hate to imagine just how long it took to make dies for that ammo... never heard of that cartridge until now.

Sweet, a dedicated Ottoman rifle episode. If only they were more common and worth way less, I'd jump on an Ottoman 1887, Peabody, or even a Snider. Plus, I learned that the Ottoman Empiee made Snider breech-loading rifles out of Springfield percussion rifles that they bought from the Germans, who captured them from the French during the Franco-Prussian War, who bought them from the US, who also sold a bunch directly to the Ottoman Empire. And the Snider actions were either bought directly from Britain or locally made. And this was just an emergency rifle meant to make sure that every soldier had something to fight with.

When is Mae gonna break off and do Dino Tales? I imagine it's just going to be her playing with dinosaur toys like Wash in Firefly. "Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!"

I sense the 1889 mauser on the way.

"Hi, im Othais and welcome back to the all Mauser channel." Lol. But in all seriousness, i went to the National WW1 museum in Kansas City, MO. If you get a chance i suggest you go. They have two firearms you have not covered yet the Japanese Murata Model, 1886 (Meiji 20 type) and the German Sauer & Sohn pistol.

When are you going to do the AR15?

@jdgomez775 8 years ago

You can make a mini series about the Mauser brothers. Act one, grow up, design weapon, get contract. Act two, lose of brother, sell gun to Turks, get screwed by partners. Act three, revenge, make better gun, eventually get company back.
