The petanque technique of shooting isn't a mystery. Here are the 3 basic shots broken down in their simplest form — anyone can execute a good shot
Mastering the tir au fer is the most effective way to clear an opponent's boule from a tight position.
This tutorial focuses on the fundamental mechanics required for accurate petanque shooting. We break down the specific arm movement and release timing needed to strike the target directly, ensuring you displace the opponent while keeping your own boule in play. This is essential for players looking to stop relying on luck and start dictating the position of the end.
Learning to execute this shot consistently builds the boule control necessary to compete at a higher level. By following these steps, you will gain the confidence to take on difficult shots under pressure without the fear of missing the target entirely.

These are the types of terrain I would prefer the raffle: An even gravel surface with a sandy underground.
For shooting in front: A terrain with thick even gravel or sand.
For tir au fer: Hard terrain, bumpy terrain, uneven terrain, big and small gravel mixed, etc.
In general I often see raffels on difficult terrain do more destruction to the picture than actually being precise.
Good video btw!
