Thank you guys again for having me! It was a joy to just sit and talk to you guys about stuff and to get to know you all even better!

Tank came on after finishing a livestream plus trying to manage dad duties. Absolute gent 🙏🏼

Re: Monuments - ex-drummer here!
The athens merch incident resulted in a pretty virally recieved tweet made by someone from the band, that definitely seemed to come at a time when there was a lot of anti-merch-cut sentiments flying around.

Just to clarify though - specifically that one gig on the leprous tour in athens - they were insisting on charging our gross equally for all piles. The venues commission plus their tax, and also withholding tax. The number quoted may have been wrong or merely oversimplified, but the resulting lost income was genuinely close to 50%, which is why we didnt sell, we still paid our crew for the day, and we just went out front after show and took pictures and apologies to the fans who couldn’t buy merch, represent snd support us. It was such a crap situation and it just felt wrong all around.

Agreed though that I’ve seen people misconstrue 28% tax charged of the 20% gross and incorrectly report that as a total 48% on gross sales. Total bogus move. But Monuments weren’t pulling that move, and the band frequently paid that traditional fee + tax. But we had to raise the prices to cover the fees to not lose money, or just end up making a merch loss and maybe stressing about missed delivery restocks just to provide the cloth we were losing money on.

Just a rubbish situation all around really! I think the bigger issue was that everything got so much more expensive after the mixed storm of war outbreaks, global shipping costs and delays (suez canal backlog), covid, and brexit… let’s just say it’s enough to make some people not willing to go to the trouble of playing live anymore 😂

Tank is the MAN, as a human and a father!

So we all need reactions from you from German Medivel Metal :D

I was the same way with Electric Callboy. When I first heard "Hypa Hypa," I was like, "this is lame, such a meme band." Then I heard "We got the moves" on a Spotify Metal Playlist and I was hooked!
Watching Tank on his first tour vlogs with them made me want to love this band more as Nico and Kevin are amazing people on and off stage.

I love tank. such a genuine and good person.

What a great discussion! And Tank, thank you so much for sharing more thoughts and insights!
David leaving Electric Callboy?! I'm usually too busy to do more than listen to discussions such as these on YouTube, so I hadn't heard this. I'm crushed! I'm not mad, of course; I wish nothing but the absolute best for him and I'm sure EC will find a good replacement! But the extent to which I will miss watching him cannot be measured.

I think Electric Cowboy should hire El Estepario for a tour.

Nice podcast, good conversations 👍🏻

Damn. Ingrid come, chair stream going, and I feel like home. 😂 Thank you for a great podcast, gentlemen.

As a swede I was so proud when TankTheTech just name dropped swedish metalbands for a couple of minutes straight :D And then mentioning Orbit Culture as well...💗

To all of your point at 50:45 approx. , a friend and me saw Spiritbox be one of the openers for Despised Icon, and we went only for Spiritbox, being huge fans of their self titled EP. I mean we saw Courtney and Mike scoot by us in Starlite room and they said thank you to us for buying their shirts. We will never get to experience that again and I both love it and hate it simultaneously but in the best way possible.

51:22 to the point about the whole “more intimate” stuff. What i love about arenas is when thousands of people know the lyrics to a song and sing it together. Or everyone gets their lights out. Goosebumps moments every time. And what i love about moshpits, you basically get moved around half of the front of stage area and could just end up almost front of stage for a few songs. Less of this “i need to camp in front of the doors for hours so i get front row and then i’m not gonna move the whole night” mentality i know from other popular pop artists. i’ve been to small shows, mid to arena und festivals, obviously festivals are my favorite, small shows certainly have a nice vibe as well but the sound can be pretty ight sometimes depending on the venue and ur location within the venue. and i just love huge circle pits man

YES, TANK!! My 4 fav YouTubers on one screen, lets friggin gooooo 🔥

You guys are great, such a nice space to hang out within the genre. Love it.

TANK! 😍😍😍

Demnächst Deutscher Ehrenbürger and I love it!!! 🤘🤘🤘

I absolutely agree here. I saw Electric Callboy in like 2011 in front of maybe 100 people and these days they sell out arenas and I couldn't be happier for them. Sure, the increased ticket prices are annoying but you get a longer show with more production.

Yes!!!! Finally my 4 favorite youtubers on one stream

47:39 Vessel take the wheel 😂 YESSSSSS!!!!
