This is wonderful. Gloria was never the type of person to say, "Well, I've been working hard at this for 60 years; at least say thanks." Instead, she was gratified that in working with others, they made things better for the women who came after them. I hope that younger women who haven't heard of Gloria Steinem, or who heard the word "feminist" said in a derogatory way, will now research Gloria's life and be inspired by it

I came to the second wave of feminism in 1970 when I was in college. Ms Steinem was an icon then and continued to be for the rest of her life. I agree with her when she said that the only people who are threatened by feminism are the people who believe that a man should be the boss-in the family, in the business and in the government. Feminism is the belief that women should have rights and opportunities equal to men. That's it.

Her statement at 5:00 is everything. Choice. Growing up in the 70s and 80s, I was taught that she was such a bad damaging person to society. As an adult, now I just see her as sensible. Why would we not want equity?
