I manage to get in & out of the car, but I put a large trash bag on the seat , makes it easier to swivel around. That tip was given to me by a nurse when I was discharged after I broke my ankle& casted after surgery. Told my husband to bring a trash bag when he picked me up after discharge. Really helps

A vedio on how to get in and out of trousers independently would be helpful.

Also post your video if you show a senior being able to do the same would encourage the other seniors watching to try.

My mother feels it was easy for you to execute the steps as you are physically fit.

My mother is just abt 5ft.

Thank you so much! My challenge is always the high Uber/Lyft cars. Please demonstrate how to get safely in and out of a high car. Even with a stool, I climb in facing forward and then have to go on my knees, try to turn around, grab the seat to hoist myself up, and flop sideways onto the seat. Scary!

I like the window down and using that, but In hot climates the outside of the car can be the temp of an oven.

Two things I don't see .what if there car is higher than that low car you're showing? Or if once they scoot their butt in and cannot move that leg to slide in stretch band? Nevertheless I think I learned something.

The problem is the modern car. Manufactures make no allowance for access and egress by people with mobility issues. The door threshold sill is a major problem. Older cars that had ladder chassis' under the vehicle did not have these.

Great tips but why do they address those helping a family member? I’m someone who needs those tips but is also a YouTube user. It would be better to address the tips to anyone who has trouble getting in and out of a car or is assisting someone who has trouble doing that.
